Default Timing Belt Rotation Direction

I just installed new belts, tensioners, seals etc. on my f22a6. After getting it all back together and rotating the engine I noticed arrows on both belts pointing opposite the direction of the engine rotation meaning the belts would need to be flipped over. In 40 years of changing timing belts I have never seen a new belt that has to be installed a certain direction. On used belts it is an absolute must so I am wondering if they could be for correct installation down the road. Does anyone know something about this that I am missing?
