Default F22a4 intake manifold on jdm f23????

Hey guys,

Need your options

Recently got my car back it had got stolen. Got the whole car back together after they had striped it clean doors, glass, motor you name it. Any ways as I got to drive it for the first time on my way home from work the motor started to knock. So I bought a jdm f23a cheap here in town from a local shop from over seas with low miles. A guy I know did the same swap and he said that he used the f22a4 intake manifold as whole injectors and all and put it on the f23a motor. He said he used all f22a4 accessories ps/ alt so on. And he said that stock harness works just fine no need to do anything to it.
So bascialy what he told me is he used
F22a4
Dizzy
Intake manifold
Ps pump
Alt
Motor mounts
Harness

And a f22b header so the o2 sensor is in correct location for harness

Also he told me if I want vtec to work in the f23 he said to get a ecu out of a 94 to 95 accord and get the jumper harness and then I have a shop that can tune my car.

In order to see any real gains from bolting an F22A4 intake manifold onto an F23 you would have to port match them. The intake port shapes between the F22A and F23A are quite different and in reality it's almost like the incoming air would be hitting a wall.

You would be better off keeping the F23 intake manifold and using a 2 wire IAC adapter.

Note: It is correct that you would want an OBD1 94/95 P0A VTEC ECU. However, you cannot tune those ECU's. I'm pretty sure that you wouldn't need a conversion harness ether. The 94-95 ECU is OBD1, assuming you are talking about putting this engine into an OBD1 90-93 Accord???? You never mention what car you are putting this into.

Is your friends swap up and running?

I agree with you about the port matching I mentioned that to him. And yes it is going into a 91 Honda accord ex. Also yes his swap is up and running. I am debating what to do still idk but I think I am leaning towards putting my f22a4 head and intake on the f23a block.

If I were to do this I would get my head rebuilt.
