Default Hasport Vs Innovative

Hey guys, i'm in thoughts of doing a B18c7 swap in to my SI crx.

i've been hearing different comments about the Hapsort mounts claiming that they sit higher than the innovative mounts. Can anyone confirm?
I don't really want to cut my bonnet skeleton to make the head fit but i also don't want the sump very close to the ground when the car is dropped. I'm in 2 minds about this.

siR front end isn't really an option since the gear in Australia is so hard to find.

Any info would be appreciated.
thanks in advance

I have absolutely no clearance issues with my hasport mounts. B16A in 89 Civic Hatch. I dont think i've ever heard of hood clearance issues with a B series in an EF?

Why not just buy an aftermarket hood, the SiR style that fits the regular model, it will bolt right on and will give any extra clearance needed

HASport Mounts with a B18/B20 with a Vtec head will touch. Non-vtec will clear. I made several different shims (aluminum spacers) to lower the engine down, but in the end went with a VIS JDM style "bump-up" hood. You want your oilpan as high as you can get it.

Currently have the B18c1 with Hasport mounts and still rubs after adding washers and cutting portions of under the hood.
I've heard Innovative mounts give more clearance.

cool, thanks for the info. I'd rather cut the bonnet than the sump sitting on the ground

My hatch with a B16b and Hasport mounts had no clearance issues. Now my sedan with a B18c1 and Hasport mounts had to have the webbing cut. No clearance issues now. Both motors have the same deck height, so I dunno.

Been rockin hasport for about 2 years on my ef9 with a b16a and their awesome! did a b18c type r swap that was pulled out of a dc2 and threw it in my friends 2000 ek9 with inovative mounts because he wanted black and red mounts (stupid). Felt like slammed every time i shifted at a higher rpm. go with hasport. might have to cut a little but goes a long way to go with something that will be better for that motor.

Stick with Hasport if you don't want issues. They have revised their mounts a few times over the years and they always get better. If the mounts require modifications to the hood then they have a good reason for it.

Email or call them if you have any concerns.

Also I have seen several instances where the innovative mounts start to sag. I know they have a warranty as we'll but the urethane shouldn't sag as quickly as it does.

I have a B16 with the innovative mounts, no cutting required. that's a b16, mind you... different height.

I have a 91 Rex with a b16 and Hasport mounts. No clearance issues at all.

B16's wouldn't have a problem. B18c and B16b would potentially have clearance problems.

yeah not sure why people are talking B16A's here, the B16B and B18's have a higher deck height because of a taller block....that's why the OP was asking about clearance

Innovative claims that the hood can close with a b20 and their mounts.

I know my buddy had to space his hood with the hasport mounts. Could have been an older set of mounts though.

I would like to touch on the sagging issue. I read that Innovatives softest(street/60) bushing sags, these are the only red ones. They replace them for $10(or free if you press them yourself). However they said the next hardness up(track/75) doesn't have this issue.

B18C1 in my 88' Hf with innovative mounts and no rubbing....however be sure that you use the type r TB,throttle cable and throttle cable bracket....if you use the GSR throttle cable bracket it will smack your hood....because its really tall...(since the GSR snail manifold has the TB located further down)
