Problem came about very suddenly. In the past, the car would occasionally not go into first without releasing and depressing the clutch. This seems very different: The shifter doesn't even move to the left, making me think this is a linkage problem? Seems like something is preventing the linkage from moving through its full range. Is there an adjustment somewhere?

 

Car has 220K miles on it.
