Clutch problems on my new b16a
Hi all. I just swapped a jdm b16a into my 90 crx si. The swap had its share of setbacks and problems and it finally came together....i started driving it only a few days ago and now the dam clutch slips....Ive tried adjusting the cable(90 integra clutch cable) and it doesnt really do much for the way the clutch grips....just adjusts the pedal.
I had to modify my d series cable guide thing to fit to my y1 tranny....the bracket was too tall so to speak for the cable....i couldnt even get the thing in there....When i Let the clutch out it feels like it grips really hard and then as i go it slips......there is alot of top play in the pedal(when i step down it takes quite a bit of pedal to engage the clutch) But there isnt much play from when i let the clutch up....I really dont want to have to replace this clutch......I think its something funky with the cable but at the same time in the back of my mind i am thinking the clutch is a dud.....God this sucks....Anyhow let me know mmkay? thanks

when i put a jdm b16 in my crx i couldn't even drive it cause the clutch that was in it was gone. it wouldn't go anywhere. if you don't want to replace the clutch right away try getting a new throttle cable. use a 90-93 integra cable. most likely it is your clutch.
Well i tried something different last night. I put the original bracket back on that came with the y1 tranny. It made the pedal feel alot better but the clutch still isnt engaged or disengaging till the pedal is almost all the way up to the top! Im not sure if i have to tighten the cable or loosen it more.....The thing is there isnt much slack at all if i loosen it....kind of a tight fit.I hope i dont have a dud clutch but that still would affect where the pedal is at.Would it? Thanks again. Ryan
