faulty or wrong fuel pump
i picked up an airtex fuel pump from autozone but i told them from a 1.6 when i have a 1.5. didnt think it mattered if the fpr is there. put it on and it didnt want to start. the pump was hardly pumping anything. so i figured it was faulty and got another 1.6 pump. i have not put new one on yet and 1.6 because going to swap next month. could the voltage provided to the pump be a set voltage for a 1.5L pump and was not enough for the 1.6 pump or was it faulty? the lines were not plugged.
There is no real difference between the 1.5 and 1.6 fuel pump.
Get rid of the airtex.i work for oreilly and have had numerous complaints about the airtex fuel pumps going bad. We switched to precision and import direct because of this. If you want a performance fuel pump I went with a walhboro.
