Default Oil leak in spark chamber

Hi im new to ht, but i have read through some forums. Anyways, i have an 89 sedan and my car has died on me 3 times. The first time it died and didnt start up, so i pushed it home. The next day it started up, and i then proceeded to check out why it died. I checked my spark plug wires and they were drenched in oil. All 4 chambers were filled with oil. Also car threw code 1 which i think is o2. Anyways i cleaned out all the oil and drove to work and on my way home died. The spark chamber seals for spark wires are new, and valve cover gasket, and i even changed the bottom orings that go below the rocker arms like a month ago. What could be the reason im getting oil in there again? Car has 197k miles, ive put about 25k on it. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

I didnt see any cracks, but ill check tomorrow. Theres really only one way to put the orings, they " clip in" to the bottom of rocker arm assembly. I was thinking my head gasket might be bad? Im not getting coolant in the oil or anything like that, but my coolant does run out kind of fast. Also idk if this may help, but when im driving and i hit 4k rpms, i smell oil, like its burning it, idk if thats normal.

The ones underneath the valve cover are put on right, theyre newish, also theres some underneath the bottom of rocker arm assembly( take rocker arm assmbly off flip it over and you will see 4 thin o rings) i bought those new from dealer. It stopped the leak for a while until just recently.

Pay $50 to have it looked at. All the things you've done should of fixed the oil in your spark plug wells

I had the same problem with my ls. I got tired and bought a new valve cover and no more leak. My original valve cover looked good and everything also

are you torquing this right? if you just tighten the **** out of it, you'll deform the seals

Well the valve cover has been replaced 3 times within the last 8 months, i didnt think they wore out that quickly. Anyways, im hoping the head gasket was just going out, seeing as ive never change it since ive purchased the car. I removed the head and intake manifold, and my pistons were super black. Idk if its the oil that stuck on there or the b2 gasket, its a pain to remove... I will be swapping in an a6 head and doin the mpfi, with every seal brand new. If i still get oil in the chambers then im going to guess my pistons are done or a crack somewhere in the block.

Mostly
but also somewhat impressed that a reused headgasket actually held up enough for the engine to run.

No no, its my first time taking off the head on my ef. But i took it off because i had a feeling the head gasket was bad, and ofcourse im not going to re use a head gasket, once torqued it looses the seal( learned that the hard way on my wagovan).
