He obviously wants to decrease gear ratios and sidewall height because he mentioned 195/55. 205/55 wont shorted gear ratios, so I suggested 205/50-15.

Oh, obviously, thats why he stated that in the original post (or not)...ever think he might just want lower profile tires with a larger contact patch?

The correct size to go down to is 205/55/15.
Now I run 205/50/15 race tires to help overcome the LONG gearing on our cars, but for street use I use 205/55/15 or 195/60/15

Why would you want lower profile tires? And if you say to decrease sidewall flex for better handling, I will verbally bitch slap you.

12345 care to explain why you are asking this question?

f20 bitch maybe you didn't notice the title of the site. it is called honda tech, which would mean that this is a tech related site. if it is a appearance type of question that 12345 is asking, then there is a forum for that (which gennady posted) otherwise it has no place in the accord forum.

:edit:
also refer to the guidelines

I think what malice is trying to say is that not every question has some deep technical meaning behind it..all he's trying to do is say "hey, maybe the kid wants to slam his car and the stock tires have too much sidewall" not well since he wants low pros it has to be to shorten gear ratios...low pros simply look better, is that so hard to grasp? dont read so far in to things, you'll live longer. Why would you want lower profile tires? And if you say to decrease sidewall flex for better handling, I will verbally bitch slap you.
We answer questions for the technical worth. Join the anti-rice bandwagon, learn about performance or leave.

i also agree that 12345 should explain why he wants different sized tires because yes, this is a technically oriented site but maybe, just maybe there is a chance that someone might stumble into the site and want a simple answer. No offense Nick, but you really cant regulate evry question that comes into the forum because there will be questions that don't necessarily pertain to the technically oriented nature of the forum. All i was trying to point out to wontbebeat is that before he assumes that the person obviously wants to change gear ratios, he should ask why he wants to change tire size. I really didnt think it would be such a big deal pointing out that 12345 might just want better looking tires.

its really up to you...dont listen to these other guys (above) they just like to nit-pick. With the information that you have given its really difficult for a third party to give advice. However, my advice is to go with 55 it'll aborb the street imperfections a little better, visually it'll look better (not as much gap), but you may be a little higher off the ground.

you have a lot to learn about performance, I guarantee I will roll your hatch or integra on track, and no I don't have an H22 or built motor or NAWZ, just a bigger set of nuts

and you can fit 215's on those rims also, just finding the right one is the question

hey, i didn't come here to put down accords. all i wanted to know is what size tires i needed. then came all this **** about being a ricer, crap about learning about performance, etc. i know this is a TECH forum for accords, but i figured who better to ask about things relating to accords than the ACCORD FORUM.
