Buddy of mine wanted to know what the best k series motor to get. He wants to do a k series swap and is looking to get the type r k20a. Told him if he gets that motor to just do the swap and have fun with it and and to not "fully rebuild it" told him it would be a waste of money and time cause it's already pretty much built it's a type r k series. I'm thinking he should do a k24a2, it's not that expensive and I'm hearing there's a lot of parts for that motor specially to be "fully built" NA. I think it's worth the money to rebuild the k24a2 to give it more power so he can stay NA

What do you guys think? Is the k24a2 the best route when it comes to a K series rebuild for NA ?

 

If you gonna "so called fully build " go with what ever you can find the cheapest because it don't matter because nothing in it is gonna be original anyway

 

get the new honda tuning magazine and it has all the K motors listed with writeups on each one.

 

depends how much power you want and what you intend to do with the car. there is no "best" anything. just things better at certain things than others.

 

Any of the K24 blocks are fine, but a lot of the heads are scrap. He needs to figure out what type of driving and power he is looking for, then talk to a head shop about which head casting he needs to start with.

 

just do a k24 with close gearing, too much fun.
