Default HELP! Need to know what this "nipple" is!?

Lol.... Exactly as the title says. I've discovered a nipple under my intake hose, on the top of my transmission? I've never seen anything like it and if u look around the said nipple, there's a lot of "oily residue" beneath It. I'm not blaming that on the mess, YET! It COULD just be a leaky VC gasket!

So anyways, is this supposed to connect to anything? If so... where?

Or does it need to be capped off?

Or is it supposed to be just wide open like THIS....

Oilyneeeesssssss......

That is the transmission vent tube! It does not attach to anything. There is usually a vent cap on it.... not a sealed cap though. The vent cap is a rubber cap that has a breather opening/slot in it to allow for ventilation of the transmission.

Gotcha... Thanks guys! Just making sure everything was hooked up correctly! I'll grab one of those little breathers here soon or get some pantyhose and a rubber band lol!

I have ONE MORE question regarding the transmission, if y'all don't mind helping me out?

Where is the "peep hole" for the flywheel? you know, the hole where you can see the flywheel and get it to TDC, adjust timing and so forth... I'd like to see where she sits ignition wise (and just so know where its at!)

If someone has a photo of it, on an ACTUAL car, that'd be great! F22B1

IIRC you have a '94-'97 or CD chassis, and you have the B1. There is no timing hole at the bellhousing. The TDC mark is the single white mark on the crank pulley. The 3 marks(either yellow or red marked) painted are the base ignition timing marks.
