Default JDM power windows with universal switches and relay?

Hello i am currently restoring an 88 crx si. The interior is in great shape after some restoration and i wish to retain my oem door panels. With that being said i have found just jdm power window regulators for a decent price and i plan to run them with a universal window switch (mounted in the center console / ebrake area) and relay.

My question is has anyone done this before, if so is there a known link to this type of wiring set up?

Also what would be a good universal relay/switch/wiring kit?

Thank You

I've seen this done before, back when the forums weren't existent. I saw a Civic with your JDM regulators wired up to switches and relays from a JCWhitney "universal power window kit"

I don't have any links, but this can definitely be done. The wiring is pretty basic. Any standard relays/wiring/switch will be suitable for this job. PS: you might have better luck asking about this in the EF Facebook group, I think I remember seeing a member in there with power windows wired up to two switches on his dash (next to the defogger switch)

i should add that the window motor itself has only 3 wires, 2 positive and 1 ground. It should be obvious that only 1 positive gives power at one time, and controls the direction of the motor.

the OEM window switches and the sunroof switch already have this reverse polarity switching inherently.

so it makes the wiring pretty simple. you really dont need relays to do the logic switching, only if you wanted to separate the control power and the motor power. which i dont see necessary, these OEM switches were designed to carry the power.

link to my passenger power window install.
https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-crx-ef-civic-1988-1991-3/installed-power-window-passenger-side-my-crx-2868096/
i only did the passenger side and used a sunroof switch to control from the driver side, and a window switch tucked inside the passenger door grab. i didnt use relays, just powered to the accessory power in the fusebox.

If your still having issues let me know I did the same wire up with that stock jdm regulators with a fuse in the middle to prevent a short, also didn't need a relay.
