2006 ridgeline hood will not open in sub zero temps.
My Honda 2006 ridgeline hood will not open because the gasket at the front of the hood is frozen to the fenders and grill. Anybody have a fix for this problem.
When you live in an area subjected to sub-freezing temps, every fall you're supposed to lubricate (graphite or silicone grease) every single rubber gasket you intend to have opened during the winter (doors, windows, hood, trunk, etc...).
Having failed to do your proper maintenance, you need to melt the ice to get it open. Heat (blow dryer, heat gun, electric blanket, etc...) or chemical (ethanol, isopropyl, etc...) means will speed this up, or you can just wait with the vehicle in a warmed area.
