Hi. Not been on here for a while but just bought myself another honda. Iv bought a 1999 em1 with the b16a2 engine. It has got a little bit of piston slap which will bother me if I continue to run it. I have been offered a b16a1 engine with head that has not been run for about 4 years, im getting it for free. Can I overhaul the b16a1 and put it in my car to replace the b16a2 and swap all the anciliries over? I can only have the car off the road for a day or two to do the swap.

 

Yes you can, always you swap a few things.

For my understand the EDM a1 it's from OBD0 CRX 150hp.

In order to work like stock in your em1 You need to swap Intake manifold, Distributor and oil Pump. From top of my head with this 3 mods. you can swap it, but been the a1 the 150hp you want in the future to swap the cams and springs from the a2.

check to see if the b16a1 has the crank position sensor. If not swap yours over.

 

Will do. Going to see it tomorrow so hopefully wont be too long till its rebuilt and running
