B16A2 tuning need OBD1 ecu?
I have a b16a2 in my 1997 civic. Im using a P30-A02 ecu. Now my car is OBD2 so that ecu is OBD2, correct? Because when i went somewhere to get it tuned, i was told that i needed to buy an OBD1 ecu and jumper harness because that is all they tune. He said to get either a OBD1 P-28 or a P-30. Now when i was researching, i found that the A02, the 2 means the generation, which id assume means OBD2. So i went on ebay looking for a OBD1 P-28 or P-30. in the title on most of them it says OBD1, but the ecu still says A02 at the end. in fact, the numbers match the numbers on my ecu exactly, but they are saying theirs is OBD1. Am i missing something? or would my computer actually be able to be chipped and tuned? Any help is appreciated.

The P30 is OBD2 assuming you do not have a step down harness.
You can not tune an OBD2 ECU.
A02
A means it is a US ECU
0 means it is manual
2 is the version number

Just because the harness is OBD2 does not mean the ECU is. OBD1 has a different connector from the OBD2 ECUs. Here's a good link for it:

The 2 does not mean OBD 2, it mean which revision of that particular board from when they made improvements to the circuitry.
