Default NA ITR stock engine or A/M "bolt ons?"

sup HT whats the real HP on a 98 spec ITR motor? im interested to buy one, but I hear that it isn't that high, but is great and fun motor. Is it worth it to buy parts for the the bottom and top ends? Supertech pistons for example make the compression higher than 11:1 maybe bore the block out? redo the whole valve-train, better aggressive cams like sk2 pro 1 or 2, good header? nice intake setep? apexi noir exhaust? tuned s300 on a p28? anything at all? id like to stay NA and not risk to blow my motor later on.....
be honest with me i want the best setup for this motor
thx

Turbos don't blow motors, shitty tunes blow motors. With upgraded pistons and valvetrain, you'll need a tune anyway. Don't waste your time with junk2.

And hey, imagine that. Wikipedia has an entire page dedicated to B series motors, with a section specifically for the B18C5!

You've got a lot to learn and I know for a fact you won't be building that engine your self judging by the questions you're asking. You can **** up an engine just as easily staying N/A, ie: too thin sleeves from over boring leading to a cracked sleeve=scrap block. It's factory rated at 200hp so like 180ish whp on a good day big diff between a s300 and a obd1 ecu tuned on chrome etc. If you want a direct swap it's among one of the funer ones, if you know how to "build an engine" then a B20V will be faster for less spent.

i just realized that i could have went to wikipedia lmaooo sigh i feel dumb

Just leave it stock. Your questions are elementary dear Watson, therefore the advice is to keep it simple!!

Many H beam rods with Wiseco Pistons (12:5:1), pro 2 cams headwork, ultra series manifold, toda rep header, 3'' exhaust, s300, then find someone who knows how to tune.

you have to step down to an obd1 ecu via a jumper harness an s300 won't work in an obd2 ecu.

h beam rods like eagle or brian crower i think? pro 2 cams with what springs and valves? any head packages? what about a 68mm TB? i currently have a PLM TA header, and for exhaust how good is a apexi noir?

There's nothing wrong with a street tune. In fact, I prefer a street tune, followed up by a few dyno pulls for WOT tuning.

Are you really sure your wallet can afford the best of the best?

Toda cams. Ferrea springs, retainers, keepers, guides, and valves. ARP hardware. Nothing wrong with Supertech pistons, but if you want the best, those aren't them. CP, JE, or Mahle. Rods? Are you sure you want the best? Pauter X beams it is, then. $800. Or maybe Carillo Pro-H beams. $1200.

Now let's talk realistic. Kelford or GSC cams are both within the same price point as junk2, but they have better R&D behind them, and are both made by better companies more worthy of an enthusiast's money (translation: neither of those companies have ever lied about production or materials, nor have they put a bounty on people). Ferrea valvetrain is still perfectly reasonable. ARP hardware, there's no replacing it. I have no problems with Supertech pistons, but they're made out of a different kind of metal. Long story short, I would go with Wiseco's instead. For rods, Eagle and Brian Crower both make perfectly capable, reasonably priced rods.

I'll go ahead and save you some time in shopping around, too. The best price I've found on the realistic parts I listed were from either English Racing (talk to Myles, tell him James sent you), and Summit Racing.

ok maybe not the best of the best racist lol but hypothetically how much would all that cost?

can u make a realistic list for me? everything im gonna need for a realistic build doesn't have to be super super expensive but something worth the money going towards those parts nothing too cheap and nothing to expensive sumn for the streets =]

thx racist and ill check those places out bro

What's the point on spending the extra coin on a ITR when your going to rebuild it.
