My turbo EK hatch build (Winston-Salem, NC)
Moving my build thread over from another website. Build started May 24th 2011 and 80 pages to move over so please hang with me peeps as I'll upload as quick as possible. I have a job that requires A LOT of me, so I find time when I can between that and being a dad and all...this car has been with me through so much so finishing her is just a matter of time
Enjoy and Thanks

Well...
I've come to the realization that I'm not gonna meet my long set deadline of debuting my car at the 2011 East Coast Honda Meet...With the perfect storm of shipping delays, custom fab. time, working full time and added responibility of being a family guy it's just not gonna happen. A couple guys on here have a good idea of the build thats going on but I was hoping to unleash something special, just had to vent a lil that it's gonna havta wait! Here's a few teaser pics of the turbo mani coming together, just gotta set in stone the dual wastegate placements and finish weld it. And also the camshaft and custom supertech pistons arrival
and :waah: All at the same time...
UPDATE 6-11-11: Decided to convert this thread to my build thread. I will keep ya'll updated along the way...my job takes up a ton of time so please forgive me for not updating on a daily basis.
Couple people I wanna give a SPECIAL shout out to for lending a big hand on this build. It's been a pleasure working with you and building great friendships I'm sure will last a lifetime!:
-My Wife
-Chief Mechanic (My lil girl Lynlee
)
-Van (-_- THc Head -_-)
-Morgan (md95ej1)
-Mote
-Pop @ Scott Clark Honda
-James Mills (J. Mills)
-Logan (itslogz)
-Bush's Automotive Machine Shop (Kevin Bush)
-Blueridge Motorsports (Jamie, Brandon)
-JHPUSA
-Wray @ CCW

Just wanted to do a quick run down for someone who has never done work with stainless line or fittings. I was lil gun shy when I first messed with em years ago but nothing to it. Snapped some photos last night when getting some work done:
Here's the stainless braided line (summit part # SUM-230603), I'm using -6 line and fittings. Make sure what you are putting on your line matches size wise.

And: the hose end (summit part # SUM-220690B):

Always test fit the male end of the hose end into your line before doing the install. Should be SUPER tight:

After that's done get a super clean cut on your hose (lotta people use tape to help) and put your hose end on. Push the line ALL THE WAY in:

Teflon tape the male end that you checked the fit on earlier:

Start screwing it into the female side of your hose end good idea to put a line under the female part on the stainless line to make sure the line doesn't try n pull out when tightening the male end down, another source of leaks:

It's gonna get real tight and can only go so far in by hand. Use or borrow someones AN wrenches to tighten all the way down. DO NOT use regular wrenches, you will destroy your new fittings ya paid good money for and run the risk of causing leaks. I still wrap mine with tape before tightening down fully:

If all done right ya gotta super tight seal and the ability to run and re-route just about anything brake or fuel wise you'll ever want to. As with anything just jump in and don't be afraid to mess up, more then likely you'll get it right the very first time!
PS. Gotta new toy to play with for the summer! :D

Well, bit of bad news....the build is on indefinate hold for the moment. After a loooooooooong ordeal and MANY doctor visits, my wife has been diagnosed with MS (Mutiple Sclerosis). For anyone that knows about the disease, I'm still learning... there is no cure and its a progressive disease so the outcome isn't a good one. She'll be outta work totally now so our income will be cut in half. Thank you guys for awesome and encouraging posts thru the build so far!!! I appreciate the relationships I've built with a lot of you over the years. Promise ya it will be finished, whether its tomorrow, next month or next year! Guys if ya love someone in your life...let em know,

CTR carpet pulled outta box this morning...here she is!

After thorough cleaning she is fresh off the presses clean!

Now was time to get to work tearing interior out and cleaning hell outta inside that I didnt know I was getting myself into. Carpet DEF has never been outta the car since Honda put it in originally.
Interior outta the way:

The Old (woooooow):

.40ct!!!! Think this is someone's way of trying to help out or laughing either way LOL "I'M RICH!!!!"

Now this was really cool...found under driver side carpet, DEFINATELY a sign of things to come!!

After an insane amount of cleaning and I mean an INSANE amount, two waffles, an egg and a piece of toast this bad boy is clean as day it left factory!!!

First pix of new carpet installed, not locked down cuz I still gotta do the rear disc brake swap and relocate prop valve under the dash :thumb:

Now thats all the proof ya need its genuine CTR carpet straight outta Japan

ANNNNNND of course no job is complete without the help of my lil helper!!! Rocking her Dora the Explorer shoes...WHAAAAT!

Got some work in today...Good and bad issues came up. Got the Asr brace and Function 7 Lca's installed. Come to find out ASR made two versions of the EK brace, the newest one allowing you to use your OEM lca bolts. Awesome, but only thing is it doesn't allow for the Beaks lower tie bar to be used...Possibly gonna do some machining to the brackets to make it work anyway but thats a project for another day. **** looks amazing installed tho!!! Get pix soon. Rear disc brakes are now fully installed and found out the DC e-brake cables are about 4 inches too short on the EK chasis. Been a good progress day on the car but few things to take care of to check these off the list completely.
On another note, heard from machine shop today that new valve guides are needed for the head so have some Supertech bronze valve guides and matching Supertech valve stem seals on the way. Off on thursday so another update will be soon :D

Got an update for ya'll:
Got the old e-brake cables ripped out and installed the new Si cables. They fit like a glove. Got the Beaks bar installed too! Didn't get a chance to do the bushings tonight due to it getting dark on me so fast and wanna do a how-to for the people that were asking, so hopefully that will help out the next guy. :thumb: Snapped a couple quick pix while doin work, sorry for the bad pix...again got dark quick on me.
Here's the difference in the e-brake cable lengths, gah what a pain in the *** to finish the rear disc swap and button everything up to find out the original cables were this much too short:

Here's quick cell phone shot of the rear suspension stuff installed, will get better ones for ya soon as everything is cleaned up and can get a lil sunshine on everything:
