By the diagram on the relay, the relay is supposed to keep pin 30 (red wire) and 87a (the white wire) connected normally.
When power is applied to 85 (yellow) and 86 (orange) then 87a is supposed to disconnect and then 30 is supposed to connect to 87.
You have nothing connected to 87.
Basically this relay is being used to disconnect the red and white wire.

To know what this relay is actually doing, you need to figure out where that white wire is going off to and where the red wire is coming from.
My guess is that it might be alarm related.
Example - the alarm triggers and disconnects the red and white wire as a starter kill.
This makes sense to me because the relay is nearby to the starter.
What's not making sense is why the harness for the starter isn't cut into.

MAYBE the relay is being used to blink sidemarkers along with the turn signals? Do you have sidemarkers?

this relay is conected to the stater switch if i just got rid of the relay and connected the cables to the normally it would work assuming everthing else is ok. i removed the side markers and there is no alarm.

Hey man, I'm having a similar problem with one of my blinkers not blinking. I eliminated a bunch of stuff (grounds, sockets, blulbs and wires) I have yet to check for a faulty relay though. This could be part of the problem.

Have you made any headway with figuring it out?
