Default Pics of HID on DC2 integras

please specify 4300 or 6000k. I am curious to see if the 4300's are color changing at all.

color changing?

4300K HID on integra projectors looks white up close.. but far away, looks like any other HID car.. the ground is nice n bright white..

6000K up close looks purple.. far away its dim and doesnt look like HID..but more like PIAA plasma bulbs.. and the ground is a fakey purple color.. not very impressive for spending $600..

my next project is retrofitting BMW HID projectors on my integ.. OEM HID optics own.. HID kits on halogen housings suck..

Will the 4300k ever flicker blue or purple from certain angles? I would really like to retrofit some S2000 projectors, but sounds like too expensive and time consuming a job.

There are several sets of hid projectors from bmw's up for auction on ebay. Is it possible to swap out the projectors in the integra for the bmw projectors? I want to be able to use my H4 d2s bulbs on my car now and have it at the correct focal point so they shine right. I figure if the bmw's use h4, their projectors will hold the bulb at the correct distance...

It's not the bulb that changes color, it's the projectors.
Most OEM HIDs are 4,300K.
So, if you put Ferrari projectors into your housing, it will look totally Blue from far away and white from close.

its not expensive.. you can find most OEM HID projectors from audi to bmw to s2000 etc on ebay for under $500 with the HID systems.. it isnt easy to convert however. you have to cut and JB weld and other things.. i will be doing this project soon, and i will be posting step by step pics.

I think I have decided. Because it was never the purple color i liked about the Audi/BMW/S2000, etc.. HIDs. It's more the way that they CHANGE colors, and the only way i could achieve that is by getting the projectors from one of those cars. Ill get the 4300k's now, and then worry about projectors later if i have more money to blow later.

no sir.. you cant do that..if you buy your HID now, you will have a 9006 kit.. and if you buy OEM HID projectors later, the 9006 bulbs wont fit. they take a different bulb altogether.. like i said, you can find OEM projectors with bulbs and ballasts on ebay cheaper than you can buy an HID kit for your car.

unfortunately those OEM HId's on eBay that are going for such cheap prices are most likely stolen. I just read an article about these lights getting ripped off of cars, and someone was quoted as saying many of them end up on eBay.

no stolen parts for me, thanks.

GREAT pics! Anyone have a similar comparison of 6000k to stock or 6000k to 4300k. I have seen the pic with the light hitting the garage door already... would like to see some of the light hitting the ground.

Does anyone know if the Integra JDM OEM Headlight housings with HID have that flickering effect such as the S2000? I've been wondering this for a while. Hmmm...I've been wondering. *Whistle, whistle* been wondering, been wondering...

Yes it does. Even USDM tegs with HID have that.

the best thing you could do.. is get the JDM headlights and make them fit..do a beam pattern correction, and then do one of those shields..that would be the BEST thing.. the HID isnt what sucks.. its the USDM optics.. they always put out 2 dots..where ecode and JDM headlight patterns are more spread out and flat.. so if you want great lighting, get the JDM headlights and make a project out of it..

but the shield is definately key.. id use one of those no matter what if i had a reflector housing.
