5th gen prelude transmission problems
So I have a 5th gen prelude base model and like usual the tranny went out last year so I replaced it with a h22a jdm tranny but I still have the same TCM from the base. The transmission is slipping and acting up could that be because its a jdm? Do I need the jdm TCM. Need all the help I can get right now still a newbie at all of this.
Your transmission is slipping because those sissy shift transmissions are junk. They're gutless and fail at the drop of a hat. Its well documented that Honda has had nothing but problems with them dating back to when the cars were still in production. They had a recall on some later units.
You have a choice now, you can waste more money buying another sissyshift, or do a manual swap and have a) reliability, and b) a hell of a lot of fun with a car that is a hell of a lot of fun to drive.

So im new to this so do you know how much it would be around iknow I should be asking a shop but unless you've done it then why not and I heard that for swaping it to a manual isn't it basically a bolt on and some welding?
Here is a guide on what you will need and what needs to be done.
