Default 94 Accord EX coupe

Hey all, great site. I have a 94 accord ex coupe 5spd. Got it from my brother for a gas sipper. I have a couple of questions.

1. At cruising speed, the car seems to flutter, but while under power, it runs fine. Wondering what could cause this.

2. Just the other day, the dash lights quit working. Radio lights work, and dash lights come and go. I am assuming this is a loose connection, but not 100% before I dive into tearing the dash apart.

Thanks for any advice.

The surging could be due to clogged EGR passages. Clean them.

Possibly/probably the dimmer switch located to the left of the steering column and next to the cruise control. Pull one from the salvage yard and see if it fixes the problem. Did mine. Also, they come out from the front. Just carefully pry under the edge of the switch.

+1.....It's not too hard of a job to do, but will help a lot. Research it. Make sure you take your time re-installing your fuel rail and injectors, I tore an O-ring on one injector and didn't know it until it was all buttoned up, started it, and was spraying fuel everywhere.

Again +1, I think I have one I'll give to you if you can't find one local to you.

Thanks for the info guys. Got the dash lights fixed. It was the dimmer switch. I just jumpered the red and black together. Lights don't dim but that's fine. BTW I did this by carefully cutting a female stakon connector. I cut it at the last grove and slipped it over the tabs that the black and red go to. Then I just reconnected the plug.

I haven't had a chance to clean the EGR yet, that is next. Thanks again for the advice.
