Default Depo FX-R retrofit, 2.5" or 3" lense?

I just picked up a set of Depo housings for my CD, the plan was to retrofit with the Morimoto Mini H1's, but after doing some reading I have decided to go for the FX-R's. I am trying to figure out if anyone ever uses the 3" lense FX-R or do most use the 2.5"? There are a lot of pictures of FX-R retros, but they never specify the lense size.

The reason I decided to go with the FX-R instead of the Mini H1's is because I didn't really like how low the Mini's sit in the Depo housing. It almost looks like the lense and shroud are resting on the black housing frame. If anyone has any input or advice on using either projector in the Depo housing please let me know. Thanks.

2.5 lenses fit in the housing with a little modificaiton. 3 inch is to big and u would have to cut and modify the mounting into the housing and that is not including the chrome ring!!
