The factory stereo/CD player in my 06 Accord VP has started randomly not working. When this happens, the stereo still has power. I can change stations, change CD tracks, etc. There is just no sound. I have noticed that sometimes when this happens I can turn the volume all the way up and I can hear faint, crackly music (this only works with CDs and not radio).

I can't reproduce the issue. I don't have to do anything for it to cut out. Just driving down the street, and zap it's gone. Same with coming back on. But about half of the time it stops working or starts working is when I start the car. But again, the other half is when nothing specific happens. Not even a turn signal or braking or anything. Very strange. I would appreciate any troubleshooting advice. thanks.
