Can someone who has taken their transmission on and off before or ever inspected chime in. Im in need of an awd automatic transmission but i have been looking and thought to myself what is the difference from the two transmissions. Ive noticed that 2wd has the threads for the bolts for the rear diff. So if i can get some information it will help. I want to get this car on the road and lower this thing.

 

You aren't going to just bolt a transfer case to your fwd tranny if that's what you are after.

Of course it is possible... they came from the factory with AWD. Yikes...

 

Very possible. Swap the tranny for an awd one, add driveshaft, rear diff, rear subframe, axles and possibly rear trailing arms. That's the only part I'm not 100% sure on.

 

The AWD transmission has a big hole on the side for the transfer case, impossible to mount transfer case to a FWD transmission
