Countershaft snap ring - remove/replace
Hey guys, does anyone have any tips on removing the countershaft snap ring from the case? My rebuild kit has a new snap ring, and I'd like to replace it but I cant seem to get the damn thing out. This is an h series case, if it makes a difference. TIA
Is this also true for D series?
And is this also true for B series?
And does the K series have a snap ring, if it does, does it apply to the K series?
As generalized as the topic, I think it wise to have all the answers in this thread as this is the only thread I find regarding re and re of the snap ring.

Read the rebuild thread instead of bumping a 6 year old one. Use snap ring pliers.

My question is quite relevant as this thread states it's quite doable on an H series with vice grips. Is this the same technique for all Honda Manual Transmission cases. Does the K series even have a snap ring in the case. Is the snap ring replaceable in the K series if it has it? Etc.
Maybe now you'll understand what is being asked and can answer from your experience or leave it to those who can.
Yes. All Honda transmissions use a snap ring and it can be removed with vice grips in all of them. I use needle nose vice grips to remove it.
@Chrisfrom1986 I have read that rebuild thread a few times.

If the damage was done during the rebuild, the case and everything else is fine, why would you scrap the hundreds of dollars you've already put into the transmission and not replace the 8 dollar snap ring?
