96 GSR w/ AEM CAI

I installed an Apex N1 Catback on my gsr and now theres a rattle @ 3300-4000 rpm. The rattle is not on the exhaust, I think it is the exhaust manifold heatshield.

Has anyone ever experienced this. I know it doesn't effect anything but it just bugs , even more so than the AEM whistling.

How do I get rid of it???

 

exhaust heatshielding...the stuff bolted on the body.

 

I had this problem, and it is the metal inside the header, or it could be a heatshield. I tried the heatshields first, cause it very well could be that. My problem was that on high mileage the metal inside the stock header rattles against each other. Check all your heat shields first though, once you put aftermarket exhaust components on they just turn into a pain and arent necessary

 

check heatsheilds? from what your describing it sounds like the problem i had... but that ended up being my cat!

 

It sounds like the rattle is coming from the front, not under the car. I'll double check everything again. I did have to take the cat out to install it though but I made sure that the bolts were real tight when I put it back.

I have the same prob. but it's from the back....I think it might just be the EXHAUST....b/c I also have a Apex'i N1 exhaust
