Icon2 K&N filters

I have a 2001 Honda CRV and a mechanic suggested that I switch to a K&N filter. Anyone have experience with these filters and do they work as advertised, ie better gas mileage and a little more power? Thanks for any help

I just put one in my 98, not really for the performance but because in the summer its super dusty and rather than go through 2-3 filters a year I can reclean the K&N one. Didnt notice a gain in MPG or HP...maybe there is but it would be pretty small amount that I doubt I could feel.

Gains are there, but very minimal. Nothing you will feel and the mpg gain would be in the 1/10ths.
