Searched but could only find the opposite, turn signal/corner light stays lit but doesn't blink.

My driver side headlight ( 96-98 CTR ) corner light won't light up on either switch position but still blinks at normal speed when using the turn signal switch and hazards.

Replaced bulb with no effect and wires are still intact. City lights and high/low beams work fine. Corner light worked perfectly until about a week ago.

Checked all fuses, bulbs and traced each wire. Cleaned all grounds too and tested other bulb sockets. Could it be the plug that goes into the bulb socket? I'm stumped

Check whether the bulb socket terminals have voltage and ground.

 

Thanks. Will check tomorrow to be sure but I'm assuming it will read positive for voltage and ground considering the blinker still works. Correct me if I'm wrong

 

Although the parking light and blinker share the same bulb, they have separate power circuits. While they share ground wires, the blinker ground wire could be broken before the wires merge. Therefore, you need to do both voltage and ground tests.

basically the steps to finding the answers were already listed.

check each wire for continuity. one should be ground one should be always on when parking is triggered and one should be pulsing 12v for the turn signal.

i had issues relating to the plug. the pins were dirty just needed cleaning.

 

The harness detaches from the bulb socket. You can borrow the socket and bulb out of the other side and plug it in to double-check your bulb and rule out it being a bad socket.
