All of the guides for bulbs say that 92-95 Civics use either 168 or 194 bulbs for the license plate. Looking through my spare parts I see a license plate socket (probably because a long time ago I bought two brand new license plate covers and sockets) with a big bulb in it. The bulb is much bigger than 194/168. Which bulb is this, and which one is the correct one?

 

That bigger bulb in the first picture is 12V 8W according to the Honda part number. The 168s are 14V 4.9W.
I wonder if Honda purposely uses rare bulbs that Sylvania does not sell.

I noticed that it does, when I went to the store to look at the bulbs. They had a 922 that looked similar. Why don't any bulb guides recommend 921/922?

Well I am trying to stop using LEDs and go back to stock halogens for a bit. LEDs draw a little bit too much attention, and they go bad/out a lot more often.
