Default XXR 527 wheel fitment on '01 Accord Coupe?

Looking at a set of XXR 527 17x8.25 to replace my OEM 15" rims. Car is currently at stock height and I want to upgrade to Tein S. Tech lowered springs. I was told that the only way for them to fit would be to get coilovers which seems like a stupid answer because how could it only work on coilovers and not lowered springs since they both have a lower ride height? Also, last question... What is a good tire size for these rims? I currently have 195/65r15 and was looking at 225/45r17 Hankook.

I am running Tein H-Tech on the front and S-Tech on the rear. I like the balance, but that's just me. The rims are 17x8 with a +45 offset on the front and a +40 on the rear. I use 215/45/17 on the front and 225/45/17 on the rear. 225 will work on the front but will hit the fender on some of the turns around my neighborhood. S-Tech would lower the front a little more and would probably cause interference problems, not the least of which would be UCA to fender clearance. But this is with no body mods, so rolling the fenders would help. And no, coilovers aren't necessary. And the 215's look a little stretched on the 8 inch rims, but the tire specs say that is within their limits.
