91 CRX Build
hey guys i have a 91 crx that has a b16a first gen swap...got the car off a friend of mine that has let it sit for quite some time...just changed all the fluids and got it to turn over....the car was running and driving up until the day alot of the parts were traded to make another supercharged crx back to stock and the supercharger (purchased by my friend) was supposed to be added to this car...in the meantime the supercharger was stolen and the traded parts now had to either be repurchased or a new supercharger...my buddy opted to go back to stock because of the cost....now that i have the car...and dont have much in it i am putting back to stock and all that is missing is a throttle body at the moment....everything else (intake manifold, exhause headers, distributor, etc) is new....im sure ill have alot of questions along the way but lets start off by asking...do i need to buy a factory 60mm throttle body or can i beef it up a bit incase i upgrade later....?
Any "beefing up" on that end may include CAI, and aftermarket or ported stock IM. All of this adds up to rather small gains anyway. I really have a hard time envisioning much better TB for stock setup, considering its only job is to open and close. Keep it cheap for now and save a few bucks. If you decide you really need that upgrade - consider your future plans first: is it going to be a turbo or naturally aspirated, or something completely different. I guess the bottom line is I would discourage from piecemeal'ing if you do not have a clear objective.
sorry i took so long for me to get back...i thought i was going to get some type of notification when someone replied to a thread but anyhow..just now seeing this and i have a new problem haha....i got everything pieced back together and am not getting any spark....distributor is brand new- however i did find that i have 12v power to both neg and pos terminals leading to the coil when the key is on....what could this be???im assuming i have a bad ground somewhere ...havent gotten to mess with it much due to cold weather here right now but will as soon as a get a chance..ready to get this thing ready for some autocross!!...any help with be appreciated..thanks
