problems after rebuilding head
Honda accord 2000 manual
started with a bad misfire in cylinder 3. through testing we determined it was a burnt exhaust valve. we pulled the head, and had 2 valves replaced at a machine shop. reassembled the car completely. since them we have been able to start it, but not go amywhere. we have had trouble with idling, with no load, and when put in gear and try to drive, the car spits sputters and dies. we double checked vacuum hoses and sensors, but still no change. any suggestions on what to test, look for, get the car to drive would be wonderful! please help me out with any info or diagnosis possible!

Intake valve lash clearance should be set to .005" and exhaust should be set to .007".
This is very important and has to be done after the motor is rotated into lash setting position for each valve.

Damn I hope this doesn't happen to me, I just lapped my valves and basically rebuilt my head. I would doubt I messed mine up though.
Do you think the machinist installed the valve springs upside down? Maybe you have ignition timing off or mechanical timing.

Definitely double check timing isnt a tooth off. Setting valve clearance afterwards, is pretty easy, in fact theres a good procedure out there, that involves starting at TDC, then only having to spin the crankshaft one revolution, stopping it at 90 180 270 to adjust the other three cylinders.
