hey everybody. i just bought my first prelude. a mint 95 prelude SE, bonestock. i dont know much about these. what kind of mods are best buy for the money to start out with? also, any good links to learn more about this car. a lot of sights i find only have info about 97's and greater. also, are the 92-96 engines all the same? any help on these would be appreciated. thanks a lot.

Remove your converter.
The cat converter? noooo!

Suspension is how I started and i'd recommend the same.

great pick-up.
not all 92-96 motors are the same. you have the h23a non-vtec model. great torque out of that sucker though. the h23a takes well to bolt-ons. intake would be the first performance mod (engine). then work on getting an exhaust, header. possibly look into getting a new clutch and flywheel depending on condition.
the bigger displacement honda motors love to breathe.

enjoy

if you really want some power the h23 works well with turbo... but if your looking for a few bolt ons just research and do it all right the first time so you dont spend more money replacing the same parts later... I would build my suspension first because even a stock car with good handles is a blast to drive and that should fuel your need to continue upgrading.. you will notice pretty good power with an AEM cold air intake header and exhaust, but i wouldnt shell to much out on bolt ons till you decide what your budget will be and where you want to go... IE if you go turbo dont waste your money on a header because you wont be able to use it...

i own the same car, 95 special editon, gold exterior with tan and black leather interior, nice torque for a honda, i cant compete with the h22's but i'll yoke one off the line(or i used to when my clutch was good) bolt on's are nice for the car. 4th gen's are the sexist gen i think, 5th gens more popular, 3rd gens are the most fun to drive IMO
