I've had this car for several years. I bought it off of a good friend of mine, Brandon Le. I never thought as a kid in Ohio I would end up with a JDM front integra but I did. This is a confusing story so, be patient. I wanted to paint this car rootbeer candy. I love candy paint and I am tacky like that. A friend of mine made me an offer to trade a body kit for paint and body work. So, I had a painter and a body guy. I saved my milk money and bought him a rocket bunny body kit for his 240 and he started work on my integra. I ran into some issues. Mainly, I couldn't find someone who would allow me to paint my car in a paint booth. No one I knew was down for that.. Without access to a paint booth painting the car was going to be an issue and candy painting it was out of the equation. I settled on a back up color that I liked off of the Nissan Skyline that was a Micah color. Unfortunately my initial body guy cut some corners and was in a hurry to move so I was never happy with the turn out of the paint job.
Later on I became good friends with Matt G from WV. He busted my ***** for a year and finally said, "I'll paint it for you." He does great work so I didn't pass up the chance..

This didn't last long because Matt wanted a 5 speed and I wanted a 6 spd..

Matt nudged me to paint it rootbeer instead of the Micah color. He also saw a test
of a candy paint that we laid on a swatch. We talked about it and agreed that the rootbeer color is a bit dark. So he looked at some swatches and reccommended a color. I took a look and thought It looked awesome so I had him order the paint.
Earlier this weekend he painted the bay.

I'm always running around taking pics of cool cars instead of my car. I let it sit too long and it's been a long learning experience. I learn everything the hard way. I'm grateful for some really good friends like Matt and Steve- otherwise I might have burnt this thing to the ground.

 

Thank you. It's actually a different OEM color but a lot of people think that it is root beer- so it's all good.

Yesterday was the first time I saw it painted. Matt G did an amazing job with the body work.
