gen 4 prelude.. mods for faster steering. dirt racing
Ok boys. I'm going to be racing this car on a dirt oval. Currently the car is roughly 3 turns lock to lock. I would like to cut that down to 2.5 or less lock to lock. Steering quickeners are against the rules for the class so they aren't a option. I found a thread that said I could possibly drill a hole in the steering knuckle closer to the hub than the stock hole and attach the tierod ends to the new hole. Will this work? If so what kind of results should I expect? Is there anything else I can do? Possibly change the gearing inside the box itself? Any suggestions are welcomed.
Could also use some ideas on how to take the push out of the car. We are already going to run slicker rear tires with like 40-45 psi so the rear slides around. Put more weight on the left front. Remove front sway bar. Run more weight on left rear. Maybe try to preload the rear sway bar to further loosen the rear. Is there anything else I can do to help this car turn and stay hooked up on dirt?. Ohh also going to run as much camber as I can get out of it and set the front toe way in and rear toe way out. Any other ideas?
