Hmm.. Good deal or am I getting in over my head?
I saw an Integra 2 days ago - advertised as an RS. The price was $4k (might go lower) the year of the car is 96. I looked at the car today. It has 98 front and back bumper conversions. Turns out the car is a theft recovery GSR. I ran the VIN # of the car and it's definetly a 96 GSR with a rebuilt title.
Now, this is the catch. The car has a 97 Integra RS motor, I ran the VIN on that as well (Carfax preview, waiting on full check) and that checked out. The cluster on the car is that of a RS/LS/GS as well (lower redline) I started the car up and theres a CEL and the gauges are not working.. Motor responded to throttle, etc.
I'm kinda interested based on the price, it seems like a good project car.. 98 front, back, RS motor, GSR chassis.... What do you guys think? I'm gonna do a compression test on the motor.. but the CEL scares me, for all I know it's a OBD2 GSR computer still with a LS motor?

i was looking for tegs around here for a while, didnt see that one. id just get a high mileage GSR for a lil more cash IMO.
BTW i ended up settling for a 94 LS, but it was single owner so its in outstanding condition.

man, you might end up having more problems that you realize. i would pass up on it. unless youre technically inclined to repair all the problems.
does anything esle not work??? The price may be low but if you end up haveing to dump money into it, your out money and time
Also not haveing a clean tittle sucks. Good Luck
