Slicks Cut Over 2 Full Seconds Off of an NA Honda 1/4 Mile Time?
Yeah that's what some guy is saying in another thread here on H-T. He's saying that his H22A swapped Civic that ran a 14.7 will run better than my car's 13.3@101mph.
I've never seen or heard of slicks cutting 2 full seconds off of an N/A (basically stock swap) Honda in the 1/4 mile.
Here's a link:

Please go over there and rip the dumbass who keeps saying that his 14.7 machine will run at least 12's with just slicks added.
His SN is heiyu - just look at how bad I already owned him on several occasions in that link.
Your thoughts?

Wow 2 seconds? Funny...I just ran my car on 20x8x14 slicks and knocked off a little bit more than half a second. Maybe he has maD skiLLz tom.

couple of h22's with above 170whp
couple of h22's with above 170whp
...And every one of those H22A motors over 170whp is TUNED.
I specifically said I've not seen an H22A with only bolt-ons put down over 170whp.
So there are those of you who actually think it's possible to drop 2 seconds off of your 1/4 mile times with only addition being slicks?
I'm sorry I just do not see that on an H22A swap with only bolt-ons.
If it were a boosted or nitrous'd motor that was spinning all the way through 3rd or even 4th then that might be logical, but a swap that's laying down roughly 170whp and 130 torque would not be spinning all the way down and trapping 100+mph with a 14.7 would it?

If he was rolling on bald tires and straight out dumping the clutch at 6 grand, I can see it knocking off maybe 2 seconds.

Mine was 175whp untuned with only mods being intake, exhaust, and P28 ECU re-chipped by kenji. That's with a stock cast-iron USDM exhaust manifold.
Where'd you get 172whp tuned from?

...And I specifically said just i/h/e bolt-ons. What in the hell are you gonna tune with only i/h/e? Tuning must have taken cam gears, V-AFC, FPR, etc.
Get it now?
Back to the original Q please, thanks.
