Just picked up a 97 del sol si. d16y8 california car.. no rust.. underbody still shines. i even have the original dealer papers and window sticker with $17,3?? on it! the ****** floor mats were taken out in 97 still in plastic and placed in the trunk. seriously. never had a shoe on em. . interior is mint. couple dings and sun wear on the outside. I got it for $1,000 from a 67 year old japanese gentleman who is a member at my work; a hospitals health and wellness center. he had it shipped here and has been sitting on it for a few years now. never seen snow or salt!

I'm here to get the best advice possible. I am a former owner of a 00 civic si. looked amazing but wasn't taken care of and wasn't done right. i beat the **** out of it. i want to do this one up right. so i can beat the **** out of it in a good way! I'm in a better place financially now so I'm hoping to recreate the vision i have for it.

Do research on the crank it sucks....
and while there the oil pump too.
past that fuel pump, cheap ram air kit and just get rid of the catalytic converter
but leave the muffler of course
yeah you can go much beyond that but I believe those are the first thing for a cheap reliable fun ride you can ouch on the regular
also next stage 2 cam do the valves and valve springs
then..... Skunk 2 intake and throttle broom broom

 

why not swap a b16a2 into it like they came in the si model and leave it at that
