B16A2 with B18C5/6 girlde torque specs
Hello, recently my motor had a huge failure on oil pump and I guess with was the main/rod clearances that made it fail.
I have a B16A2 block ( EDM EK4 VTI) and it has a B18C girdle on it, my question is , what torque shall I go with on main caps? The B16A2 factory spec or the B18C?
Thanks

either...the specs are usually just 2-3 ftlbs off each other. won't hurt one way or the other. if you're not using a good digital TQ wrench you're probably doing it regardless.
^^Yes sir, given you are matching different engine caps (especially used ones) you need to have them align honed, plus to made the job to work flawless you need to machine also the oil pump, to match the material removed in the caps.
