Lower front motor mount question
so i'm trying to replace the front lower motor mount and it isn't lining up properly . When i finish bolting everything up the center shaft is not being centered and everything is being squashed to the right side. what could the problem be?

probably you torqued down the other mounts while the engine was sitting at some angle. Maybe jack it up, loosen everything and jack it up and down a bit to try to find a good riding spot. then torque things down.
Otherwise, I wouldnt worry too much about that movement damper. It is not a really integral part of the engine not falling out. The other mounts are good enough. As long as you got a little rubber in there to dampen back and forth motion. i think it will be fine.

You certainly will notice more vibrations, especially sitting at idle, with new rubber in all the mounts. If its really bad, I guess Id be worried. I mean, its something to groove with really, like, you feel the power (sic) in your motor now. 
Also I remember in the beginning when I got my car, I always felt vibration in the stick shiter. 10 years I never really thought about it much, but sometimes, I noticed I missed that vibration.. rubber shifting bushings of course.

I agree those front little dampening mounts are longer one way then the other.

probably because you didnt replace the other mounts and they are worn down and letting the engine sit at an angle. That also probably why this is the only mount you replaced (yes?), because it is the one that is getting some weird stretching because the other mounts are done.

Something is either bent or that's the wrong mount. I know it's aftermarket but it looks like it's for the transmission side. The stock mount for that location has much thinner webbing.
I dont think you can really tell if the other mounts are worn out by looking at them. If they are really bad, of course, but I think that rubber get old, gets worn out and you cant really see it unless you take the mount off and pry it around a bit and then try a new mount and see that its a lot stiffer against your prying.

You are right it is a bit thicker but the old mount was also sitting in the same position squashed to one side
That is certainly an aftermarket mount, has a slightly different mold pattern, but is the right mount for the engine side. I would agree with 94EG8 that something is either bent, or your other mounts are severely damaged...but just for arguments sake, on the engine side stopper mount, the end of the mount with two holes (the longer side) faces the front of the vehicle, while the transmission side stopper mount is the opposite (two holes, longer side towards rear of car). *this info is all gleaned from the honda factory service manual.
Seeing as it's pratically impossible to misalign the other three main mounts, I would say that your problem, if it is indeed mount based, is those two stopper mounts. also, there IS a suggested order for torquing the mounts, although i'm fairly certain that i've only seen that order in a chilton/haynes manual (which i only trust one time out of five, and always refer to the FSM first).

When I bought the del sol I found the passenger side post bent which pushed the drivers side back.
Luckily they are pretty easy to change.
But how it got bent is beyond me.
