Clunking noise after koni/gc install ek
I'm getting a clunking noise coming from the rear when I take turns. This is after koni/gc install on my 98hatch. Any ideas? First thing I thought were loose screws but all is tight.
Rims are rota gt3 15x7 with falken 512 195/50/15. I'm not sure what height I'm at but the top of my tire is right on the fender I can squeeze my pinky in there. I don't think it's tires rubbing, because the noise sounds like metal to metal.
there's the off chance it's the brake dust shield rubbing the rotor inspect just in case. 2nd guess is jack up the rear and spin each wheel looking closely for anything rubbing. 15x7 shouldn't do that you checked EVERY bolt was tight back there right ?
Yes but I'll check again. I will also check the rotors and spin while it's jacked up. Weird thing is it happens when I turn. At first I thought the rear control arm was hitting the shock mount so I raised the car and still have the sound.
Your exhaust could also be slapping your trailing arms. Best way to know for sure is to drive the rear end up on ramps, get down there, and see what's hitting what.

What do you mean by the spring being pre-loaded? The shocks and coilover came in one assembly. I think I might have found the problem. The circled picture bellow is very close to the rim and the rim seems to have a weight for ballancing which I think is causing some rubbing when I turn. I'm going to take it back to discount tire to get that piece removed and rebalanced.

shouldn't be clearly it is I had my weights put on the inside of the wheel still got scraped by the caliper(wilwood 4 piston) tho lol. take it and ask them to move it should work for you.
