Hi guys, I have a 96 Accord LX with a 4spd non-vtec engine, my car is shaking lol, I need new motor mounts, but I don't know exactly how many I need, what kind, and what type. I've gone down to Autozone just to get a rough estimate of how much I'd be paying for all of the motor mounts that were available to my honda which was around 250 to 300 for all of them.

Now I'm planning on replacing all of them, I have a family friend that owns a shop that can go ahead and do the work for me (while also showing me how to do it) but he's a bit busy and can't really take a look at my car right now or in the near future I also don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth so I really don't want to bug him. My issue is there are two kinds of motor mounts at autozone one with a solenoid valve and one without, I'm not sure which I have, and how many I need to replace all of them.

 

I think it's a choice between just the mount and mount with solenoid as both the 2-dr (4 spd auto)and 4-dr (4 spd auto) have a solenoid.

I think I should have put down that I have no idea what a solenoid is lol But I'm guessing by what you're saying is that it doesn't exactly matter which I get?

 

I would get the mount and solenoid. Your car is old enough that the solenoid is probably worn out too. You don't want to replace the mount to find out you have to go back in and change the solenoid.

 

Ah okay thank you, that's exactly what I want to do, I'm planning on just going ahead and replacing all the mounts and stuff.
