PLEASE HELP! 91 Civic Si Door Checker Repair ................................ Picture

Hey Guys,
I need help from ones who experience this same problem before or know of a permanent solution.
As you can see in the picture, my driver door checker is f***ed. Original owner try welding the rear end part to be stationary but the weld broke and just looks like crap.
How do i fix this issue? I want to reframe from further welding and making it even uglier.
I know theres two parts to this door checker piece (one that connects to door, one that looks connected behind the front fender)
What are my options?
Thanks
2 ways I know of, but both require welding and both require you to strip all the wires out from inside the kick panel.
1) You can cut the original one out and weld in a newer+reinforced one in from a donor car.
2) Attempt to weld it from the backside.
What you can't do is unbolt and replace the hinge unit from the car. it's welded in from the backside from the factory.

geez! thats a bummer. honda can make an awesome vtec motor but can't get a simple door right.

all this is is a simple anchor point with one hole thru it for the pin to go thru. Should be able to just grind out the old failing one, and refabricate a new system, with a new hole. then just spot weld the entire thing overtop the old section that is good still.
then when all is said and done, every few oil changes, lubricate the slide mechanism.
Everyone who owns EF should be lubricating the slide hinge regularly to prevent the sticking which in turns causes this.

any quality body shop will be able to fix that in 2 hours it should cost you less that 150. take it to a professional and have it fixed right.
