Default Brake Proportioning Valve

Well have 92 accord and came with 3030 brake proportioning valve. It got leaked and was spilling brake fluid through weep hole. Searched new and junk yards here in my country but failed to find any good conditioned one.

Some one suggested that he had installed 98 civic Six pipe non ABS valve on his 86 accord.

Now I purchased the 98 Civic valve. Want to ask two things.

1. There is difference in the Nozzles of the two valves. The 30 30 has Cone shaped pointing away from valve and the 98 civic one is pointing inside the valve. Would swap work?

2. How to safely bend the brake pipes without breaking them.

3. On Blowing air through the new valve at first more air went from front connection as compared to rear pipe connection, however after cleaning it with Carb Cleaner the air passes through Front but the rear ones are blocked.
Have i messed up this valve?

1. Most likely what you are seeing is a difference in ISO bubble flare vs a inverted double flare.

3030 uses inverted, Civic uses ISO bubble.

2. Depending on where you are getting the lines from some may be harder to bend by hand or even with a proper tool. Factory prebent lines tend to be very stiff and hard to rebend. I have the tool at the top of this picture, it works pretty good.

3.Not sure which way or how much pressure/flow you passed through the valve. Brake systems tend to have high pressure but low flow, possibly unseated or jammed the valve.
If your old leaking valve is similiar to the new unit I would suggest taking the old one apart to see what you may have done to the valve inside your new Civic unit.

I would look, even internationally, for an Accord valve before using the Civic unit. And if you are willing to do some line bending and flaring, it may be in your best interests to purchase a pair of adjustable proportional valves and install those instead of the Civic valve.

Well today installed a brake proportional valve in place of 3030 valve. Could not find orignal one so had to go for alternate. Found it in junk yard. Was of very good build quality. Funny thing is Junk Yard shop keeper, neither me or the mechanic who installed this valve knew from which car was it actually . Important thing is it worked like charm.
