Default Input on Transmission Options

currently running an ls tranny on my gsr swapped eg. tranny recently started to pop out of 3rd gear.tranny is missing vin plate and has a stripped bolt on the mount.with that said i think i want a different case no matter what! but im not sure if i want to buy a new itr tranny from the dealer or if i want to buy a new case and source all the parts. jdm new is also an option i am considering with the higher final but that can always be upgraded later. i have considered used but we all know you can buy all sorts of "great condition" mistakes.

a whole trans from the dealer will be 1K upwards that's far from ideal the case is 550$ give or take new. most importers have a warranty/guarantee HMO is a good place to start they're legit.

$550? More than that. The clutch housing itself is $517 list. A complete, brand new ITR transmission, if you can even talk a dealership into selling one, will be in $2500+ range.

OP, transmissions are easy to rebuild if you can be methodical. Don't immediately jump to buying a replacement, and sure as hell don't jump straight to buying a brand new one.

The GSR or B16 tranny would be a huge upgrade alone. If you wanna spend the money on an ITR tranny, go ahead. Just keep in mind gear ratios. If you drive on the freeway a lot, and don't like turning higher RPM, DONT get an ITR or B16 tranny.

^^^ Meh, not really. A stock GSR tranny would be cheaper than a complete rebuild and perform better with his motor.

am I missing something here?

Our Transmissions are completely remanufactured to OEM specs. Prior to assembly the parts have been cleaned, inspected, and polished in a deburring machine with ceramic media. Any worn parts have been replaced including Bearings, Seals, and Synchros. Preload, gear clearance, and torque are inspected and adjusted for superior performance.
It is like having a brand new transmission at a fraction of the dealer price, how would a "stock" transmission "perform" better?
