What is the best method for a drag race launch?
Well I usually let the clutch out to the point where it catches and on 3(or go) let it out and dump the gas?? sometimes i spin tires sometimes I dont does anyone have a better method?.....Please help
i hate to tell you, but your probably gonna get ripped on for having the name civickillahz24 and only pull 14.2. Just a warning, i'm not doggin you.
Every car and setup runs different. There isn't one way to lauch a car and be the right way. Just go to the track and see what works best for you. Practice beats bench racing every single time.

Too much tirespin early in the race, that's why... and I wouldn't be surprised if one of his 'other little mods' was nitrous
There's a nitrous'd Cavalier around here that runs 14.2 also on slicks... it's pretty riced out; kind of amusing seeing blinking LEDs and things flying down the track

A trap speed of 107 should be a high 12 sec. run. Oh wait, it is a domestic, I forgot how fast they are. HA HA.

I took my mom's 81 corolla 3tc when it was about 2 yrs new, and went to the 1/8 mile track and kept practicing launching technique until I got to a point what made it best ...
there was also street racing which was good practice but that is not worth condoning.

For myself I tach it up to about 5000-5500, light turns I mash the gas and let the clutch slide quickly, but not too fast cause then I get wheel hop and spin. You just can't go wrong with practice. I've probably spent close to $200 paying for 'Test and Tune' nights at my local track, and the practice I've learned has probably made me quicker then any $200 mod I could buy.

Good luck!
