How "rare" is my car??
Supposedly Honda only produced 1,000 makes of my car and there's believed to be about half of those left.... Is what I'M TOLD!
I would like to know the truth!!!
Its a (5th gen) 1994 Honda Accord EX Wagon. The reason i believe its so rare is because of it having the Vtec 2.2L motor STOCK (f22b1) AND being a 5 speed. Supposedly only a stack of these were made, the first year of the 5th gen, as i said before... 1994.
So... How rare is it REALLY?!

They pop up in the junkyards, Bigbpatel has a massive build thread on his, and I've seen about four locally. I don't think they're that rare, I could be wrong though.
What is the source for the manufacturing numbers?
If you are looking for a numbers matching type scenario and those manufacturing numbers are correct. Then it could be rare. I can't imagine that it would fetch you any more money because of this. Considering the price of an F22B1 with 5spd swap... they can very easily be created.

I've read a FEW places that they only made 1000 of them... Weird.
All LX wagons were non-VTEC (F22B2)
The LX trim had a manual transmission option in all the years.
The EX trim supposedly only had it available in 1994
They made Accord Wagons from 1994 through 1997 (the full '5th Gen')
I couldn't find production numbers, but in the US I was able to find that the sales figures for the Accord, in general, were about 350k or more for each year they were produced.
While your config isn't what I'd call common, I don't think rare is the term I'd use. Rare is what I'd use for the single GPW Delete-model S2000 CR built in 2009.

Supposedly their were only 1000(+?) made and that's when Honda decided, "no more 5 speeds on the EX trim, Vtec, WAGON! All autos from now on! BUT we'll continue to offer it on non-Vtec Wagons!"
That's what I've read atleast!

Hell... Even if it WAS 200k of them built or whatnot!
I'd still call it a rare find! ESPECIALLY with the moon roof, power seat(s) and all the goodies.

I would call it rare... As yes the EX model Wagons had Vtec, but it was a "family car" according to Honda and they only offered the EX trim (in 5th Gen.), paired with Vtec and a STOCK 5 speed for ONE year. 1994.

Obviously there are exceptions here and there but most people buying manual transmissions don't want the bells and whistles. Example is the current Fit, if you want a Fit Sport w/ Nav you have to get an automatic.
Same thing in the Accord Sedan, once you go to the V6 models you have to get an automatic.
It likely wasn't offered in a manual for other years due to poor sales figures and less demand than the automatic. Traditionally here in the US, manual transmissions were on 'lower budget' cars and you knocked off $1000 from the price. That still holds pretty true today.

Back then, most men were buying EX wagons for their wives and as a gas sipper "family vehicle"... Not a Vtec powered, 5 speed "sports wagon"! Haha...
Or atleast that's how I SEE IT. I NEVER even see a 5th Gen wagon around here, EVER! Exactly the same way when I had my MK2 '89 VW GTI - 16V DOHC. You just DIDN'T see them. I love having a car that people RARELY see! ESPECIALLY if it looks good!
I'm planning on having this one looking GREAT, once I figure out what's going on with the coolant system >_<
