Default 97-0054 Installing Spoon Calipers, Question about washer placement

Hey All,
Got Spoon twin block calipers from my wife for Christmas. As I am installing them the way I think is supposed to be correct (sandwiching the included washer between caliper and knuckle), it appears the caliper is not centered.
Is this correct?

I have the washer, the calipers were brand new in the box. It just doesn't seem like the placement of the washer between the caliper and knuckle centers them correctly.

I tried the other way (washer just on the bolt, caliper directly to knuckle and it seems off as well.
I think my rotor is just not worn evenly

didn't it come with directions on where to put the washer? on mine I didn't use a washer at all. I also took out the little metal clips that hold the pads in.

Yeah it came with directions
For the 96 Spec, it says sandwich the washer between the caliper and knuckle
For the 98 Spec, it says put the washer between bolt and caliper

Is the 97 R equivalent to the 98 Spec?

I have a 97 R and mine didn't use a washer. I would try wither way and also see if you can get new rotors to fit and see how it looks.

also check out my build thread My 97R build thread

Usdm itr's are the same as 96 spec jdm itr's. Well not really but the caliper spacing is lol. The jdm "36mm" five lug track width is wider. As long as your pads slip in and aren't jammed in so they cannot release is really all that matters, they don't need to be perfectly centred.
