Brake Proportioning Valve
Recently I had to press the brake pedal a little hard. No Skidding but after few minutes i noticed that my brake pedal floored. Said ok some thing is gone bad, its normal for 23 years old car. It was Brake proportionong valve.
These things do not come new here. Went to junk yard. Found it and installed so called new one. Went great for few days until i again had to press brakes a little hard. And there it goes again. Both times it leaked from black ring in it.
The junkyard dealer said they leak very often. Try installing the six pipe TOYOTA's valve. They don't go bad.
Following are the questions
1. I was thinking to make groves and do silver weld in place of that black rubber piece.
2. Find other one and try not to press brake hard next time
3. Install any other car's valve.
4. What reason may be for its leaking. If it was pipe blockage then i should not get any brake fluid while bleeding.
This is what my 4040 valve looks like

you cant seal that hole up. that hole is a weep hole so that when the insides of the valve go bad you can see it. leaking from the hole indicates the internal seals are compromised.
you might be able to delete the honda valve and use some Wildwood racing valves, but i suspect thats going to be pretty expensive too, as well as not technically being up to spec, because of the cross-plumbing safety features of the Honda 'dual' proportioning valve design.
23 yrs may be enough. or at least enough time to start ordering brand new , old stock, parts. $200 for those. like they say, they dont make em like they used to.
