Confuses more than helps because we do not use this system here in the states.

well the thing is there is a swith to do it......so if you changed one bulb to a hyper white then one side would always be brighter

isn't that called a rear fog light or something that they have on German cars so they don't get rear ended or something/its easier for the car in back to see the car in fronts bright red lights in thick fog...

I don't think this is used in the states and being that we drive Honda/Acuras cops would probably pull you over for "faulty safety equipment" or some BS like that...

actually they do have it in the states.....mt mom's C class has it......i'm pretty sure that hers isn't a "special" one....althought that would be pretty cool. but yeah that is exactly what it is. a rear fog light.

yes I know German cars in the states have this feature/function.. what I meant by German was German makes.. not restricted to cars IN Germany... but what I meant was we don't use this feature in the states (or at least in CA) as in even if you turned it on.. people wouldn't know what its for/most people in the states don't use it.. and since this isn't a conventional way of rear lighting here... a cop would probaby see "Honda/Acura"... "1 tail light brighter than the other"... "time to flick on the lights and pull this car over"

tru tru. some people wouldn't know what it is for but think about it. if you saw a bright red light in the rain or fog....you would slow down right? cause where i'm from, a red light on the road means either stop or there is a car in front of you.

All cars in europe, regardless of make/model have a rear fog light, some have two (one either side), believe me they are a PITA as you get stupid *** drivers driving around on perfectly clear nites with this stupid *** lite switched on, and when you come up behind one, you cant see **** ahead of you as theyre so bright. JDM cars that are imported into europe have to be fitted with them by law as they dont come standard on JDM cars, i have a UK ITR bumper on my JDM teg, but i never bothered connecting up the fog light. IN ireland the law on it is a little crazy - the car has to be equipped with a fog light, but it doesnt have to work- whatever the logic in that is????

heres a picture of mine

Wing looks high because of the angle.. Looks like the older Mugen wing. Anyways, I always thought that the rear foglight on the Euro's kinda bugged. It looks as if one of the brake lights are on all the time( which it is), broken I mean. If you really want one, i think they sell kits for trunks and suvs with red or clear lens. i know Raybrig sells them.

the wing is the exact same height as an ITR wing, its just the camera angle that makes it look bigger....but yeah it does look freekin huge in that pic!

Different car companies have the fog lite in different places, some like mine are set in the bumper, some are set in the rear lights cluster and some (opel/vauxhall/GM) just use a switch to turn on one of the brake lights as a fog lite.

my mom's saab has that little fog light in her rear tail lamp assembly...it does help in the fog as i've followed her around. I'd advise maybe getting a hyperwhite and maybe find a used tailight, and take the screwhole/light plug assembly out and riggin her up on the red part of your tailight(assuming you have a red part) then run the wires to a 12v lead and a switch! sounds like it would work....just remember to turn it off or connect it to existing front fogs!

I see them alot lately..

In Europe they are required.

All the owners I know of hate them because all the cops stop them for broken (stuck on) tail light.

my dads benz has that feature, but its a little newer like 2003. Now both rear tail lights get brighter when you switch on rear fog. instead of just the one side.

I just hate the rear fog light because all those people having it on perfectly clear nights making it hard to keep my eye on the road.

you would think that! but on european cars theres an idiot light (usually bright bright orange/amber) that lights up on the cluster to let you know its on. thats what bugs me about them, you have stupid people that mangae to switch the ******* things on, a bright light appears to show them, and yet they still insist on driving around on clear nights with a ******* bright orange light on the cluster! I'll bet there are some ******** driving about wondering what the **** that light on the dash means. theres no light on my cluster as fogs are not standard on my car, but on cars i've owned before that come with them as standard, the light really annoys you at nite as its so bright and serves as a reminder to turn the damn things off when the air clears! Personnally if i come up behind someone that has it turned on, on a clear nite i sit behind them with my full lites on, see how they ******* like it.

Theres a guy in my town with one of those LED message scroll boards in his rear window, and one of the messages he has programmed into it is: TURN OFF YOUR ******* FOGLIGHT it really is a problem over here especially during winter, when ******** turn them on in light rain and at every other available opportunity!
