Got my first Honda
Hello
I finally got my first Honda.
https://honda-tech.com/forums/introduce-yourself-162/new-honda-3183922/
I've owned many other Japanese cars except Honda. Very excited.
Car is in very ugly shape but I wasn't picky at all.
I bought the car mainly for its simplicity and MPG.
Popped the hood, very messy and ugly.
I'll just turn everything into factory look again, and tune it for maximum efficiency for what it is.
Amazing, how Honda still got parts for 20 years old car. Loving it.

DANG! That strut bar looks tough!
But seriously, that car should be amazing for you. I think MPFI intake swaps increase MPGs if you want to drop $200 on it. I would decide if you wanted to do that before you replace the cap/rotor on the distributor (if you are tuning it up).
Modificaiton goals for this? I know you want to make it fuel efficient and just enjoy it. Interior/exterior pics? I want more!

Few updates.
Basically here is what I am intended to build
- Quite Commuters car
- Maximum MPG (Commuting nearly 60 miles a day)
- Okay Handling, braking (People drive crazy here)
- Clean interior (Also related with clean interior)
- Bare minimum stuff, light weight car
Started to put all ugly parts back to factory parts.
OE Intake, basic tune up parts

I am new to civic so I went to junk yard to study little bit before I work on my own.
Learned most interior stuff.
All pics below, not my car. Junk yard practice car.

My car came with Automatic Seatbelt so I wanted to swap with manual from 88,89. Looked at the junk yard, it will not fit.

Took the seat apart. Instead of swapping seat, I'm just going to clean the seat.
Taking the seat cover is very hard because the fabric is old, it will easily rip. Need to figure out safe way to take it off without damaging the springs inside.

Front rotors, rebuilt calipers, pads, rear shoes, drums, brake master cylinder was all replaced but braking is shitty and padel feel isn't right. Still working on it.

Why not just use some soap and water with a a soft bristle brush on the seat the way it is without taking it apart? Rinse it then suck the moisture out with a shop vac? That's probably what I'd do...
I am also covering dash and most interior with black alcantara, thats why i was practicing and studying interior at the junk yard before i do it on my own.
I am doing lots of manual works so I can cut corners on my budget. I am trying to not spend money into this car without any good reason.
And it is fun to work on this simple car compare to rotarys.
Is alcantara that fake suede? That stuff gets super dirty real quick and you really can't clean it.
Taking the seat apart shouldn't be too difficult. I doubt you'd damage the springs. You just got to be careful with the plastic trim pieces. Those do break easy.

Taking seat is not hars at all i meant pulling the seat cover, fabric out of it without damaging old foam and 20 yrs old cloth itself is pretty hard. Also there are 8 springs inside each seat.

Car came with broken dashboard. I just got another one from junk yard.
Color is not correct but it's okay. I'll get covered.

Started taking stuff out of interior. Eventually it will all get removed, get cleaned, make it nice again.

Took the cover off of both front and rear seat. It was very difficult because the fabric was so fragile. Basically time consuming work. Will REALLY wash and it get it diy black. Carpet too.
